A family of 190 children… and counting

In eSwatini (formerly Swaziland), Africa the cycle of poverty is continuous. One of our amazing faith-based partners, Heart for Africa aims to bring hope to eSwatini by focusing on the areas of Hunger, Orphans, Poverty and Education. In March 2012, the first abandoned baby arrived at “Project Canaan”, one of Heart for Africa’s campuses that houses their projects and homes for children. Since then the campus has grown exponentially adding new homes for children and training and employment programs for men and women.

Today over 190 children under seven live at “Project Canaan.” With the arrival of new babies every 12 days Heart for Africa must plan for the future and the ever growing need for this organization in eSwatini. Heart for Africa has generously made the promise to care for them until after they complete their High School education. Homes and schools will continue to be built to provide for the growing population of orphans in the wake of drought, disease, and the AIDS pandemic. Currently, nearly 300 men and women work on “Project Canaan’s” Farm and with Khutsala Artisans. The Farm has multiple approaches to agriculture with the use of both outdoor and indoor greenhouses, dairy farming, and the raising of animals. By purchasing a SwaziMud Bracelet or Beaded Ornament you will aid Heart for Africa in their quest to prepare for the future and to aid in the creation of tomorrow’s citizens of eSwatini. We are proud to be in collaboration with such an amazing partner.
